The iris is the one part of the eye everyone recognizes on sight — patients, students, and the doctor who’s looked at ten thousand of them. That’s exactly why I built a set of three around it.
I wanted art that belongs in an exam room or a waiting area without turning the wall into a teaching chart. No labels, no diagrams, nothing clinical. Just the iris the way I see it — the color, the striations, the little bit of chaos in every one that makes it feel alive. Three prints, drawn to hang together, each doing its own thing while still looking like part of the same family.
Here’s the thing about eye care offices: the walls are working whether you think about them or not. They set the tone before you say a word to a patient. A trio like this reads as “this person pays attention to detail” — which happens to be the whole job. It’s recognizable enough that patients get it right away, and calm enough that it doesn’t fight with everything else going on in the room.
Hang all three in a row, or spread them out so they carry through the space as people move down a hallway. They work either way. I made them as a set on purpose — it let me dig into the iris more than a single piece ever could, and honestly, three feels more deliberate than one lonely print floating on a big wall.
Doctors and clinic managers tend to reach for this set when they want a space to feel considered without shouting about it. It’s also a solid gift — for a new practice, a graduating student, or a colleague stepping into a teaching or lead role. Because it’s clearly art and not a reference poster, it lands as personal rather than generic.
A few things worth knowing:
- Hand-drawn by me on a digital painting tablet, and every print is hand-signed. These are NOT Ai created!
- Giclée printed on 100% archival fine art paper — acid-, lignin-, and chlorine-free — using UltraChrome Pro12 pigment inks for the widest color range. Cared for properly, it’ll outlast you.
- Frame and matte are not included. What ships is the print on archival paper. (The framed shots are just to show you how it can look.)
- Small and medium prints ship flat in a rigid photo mailer; large prints ship rolled in a hardened postal tube. You’ll get a tracking number the day it goes out.
- Packed in 100% recycled kraft paper. The tubes are reusable and recyclable. I keep materials eco-friendly wherever I can.
- Screen colors vary a little device to device, and any watermark on the preview images won’t be on your actual print.

I bought these for my optometry office. They are beautiful, detailed, high quality prints. Impeccably wrapped to keep them damage-free. I even received a little bonus print which I adore. Thank you!
