A collection of retina-inspired artworks for eye care settings

This collection brings together multiple retina-themed art prints, each created as a decorative interpretation of retinal subject matter rather than a clinical reference. I developed this group to offer eye-care professionals a cohesive way to introduce retina-related imagery into their environments without relying on diagrams, charts, or instructional visuals. Every piece in the collection is intended to function as art first.

The retina is central to vision and to much of modern eye care, particularly in ophthalmology and retina-focused practices. It is also a subject most often seen through imaging devices and diagnostic tools. With this collection, my goal was to allow retinal imagery to exist outside of those contexts, translated into composed artworks that can live comfortably on the wall.

Each print in the collection references retinal structure or visual language in a restrained way. Rather than emphasizing pathology, measurements, or exam outcomes, the artworks focus on balance, contrast, and visual rhythm. This approach makes the collection suitable for shared professional spaces where visual calm is important for both patients and staff.

These are physical art prints that ship. They are created for decor and visual enrichment only. None of the works in this collection are intended for instruction, diagnosis, or patient education. There are no labels, indicators, or explanatory elements. The value of the collection lies in atmosphere, not information.

In retina clinics and ophthalmology practices, visual cohesion can contribute to a sense of clarity and professionalism. Selecting multiple works from the same collection allows spaces to feel intentional without becoming repetitive or clinical. The retina theme provides relevance, while variation across pieces prevents visual fatigue.

Where this retina art collection is commonly used

  • Retina and ophthalmology clinics
  • Exam rooms and imaging areas
  • Consultation rooms used for discussion
  • Offices and staff areas within eye-care practices

Across these settings, the artworks function as background enrichment. They do not compete with equipment or screens and do not require explanation.

Why retina-themed art works as decor

  • The retina is foundational to visual care
  • Subject relevance reinforces professional identity
  • Decorative presentation avoids diagnostic intensity
  • Cohesive artwork supports a composed environment

This collection is also sometimes chosen when outfitting a new practice or refreshing an existing space. Because the prints avoid text and explicit clinical markers, they can be distributed across different rooms while maintaining a unified visual language.

Throughout the creation of this collection, I focused on consistency and restraint. Each piece acknowledges the retina as a subject, but allows it to exist quietly as art. Over time, the works become part of the environment, supporting the identity of retina-centered spaces without asserting authority or instruction.

The retina art print collection aligns with eye care through subject matter while remaining purely decorative in intent. It is designed to enrich professional interiors visually, not to explain or instruct.

Frame NOT included – shown for display purposes only.

These artworks were hand-drawn using a digital painting tablet, then “watercolor” effects were added. Each print is hand-signed by ophthalmic artist, Mark Erickson. These make great gifts for eye doctors.
